Does This CarPlay Adapter Work With My Car?

Before buying, the compatibility check is simple but easy to get backwards - here is exactly what to look for.

Check For Factory Wired CarPlay First

If your car's factory touchscreen already runs Apple CarPlay when you plug your iPhone in with a cable, the wireless version will work - it converts that existing wired connection to wireless.

Have an Aftermarket Android Head Unit Instead?

If you have installed an aftermarket Android car stereo that does not run CarPlay or Android Auto at all, the wired version adds CarPlay, Android Auto, and MirrorLink to it directly.

Phone Requirements

Either version needs iOS 9.0 or newer, or Android 4.0 or newer.

One USB adapter dongle, an attached USB connector cable, and a quick-start guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

My car has no CarPlay at all and no aftermarket stereo - will either version work?

No. Both versions require an existing starting point: factory wired CarPlay for the wireless version, or a CarPlay/Android-Auto-capable aftermarket head unit for the wired version. Neither adds CarPlay to a factory system that has no CarPlay support at all.

Does it work with older iPhones?

It supports iOS 9.0 and newer, which covers iPhone 4s and later running a compatible iOS version.

Do I need any extra cables?

No - the USB connector cable is attached to the adapter, and that is the only cable involved after initial setup for the wireless version.
